Also keep an eye open for Left Hand Oktoberfest out in the marketplace; the 4/6pks are already sold out at J.J. Taylor for the year. – PROST!
In America, the Craft brewed Lagers & Pilsners may be the most undervalued styles of beer. The particularly mild flavored Macro Lagers & Pilsners that are so globally popular, have certainly not assisted in culturing the mass public of the largely complex flavor profiles that historically are found in an authentic non-adjunct added Lager or Pilsner styles of beer.
This year Southampton Publick House brewmaster, Phil Markowski, is helping expand palates across America. The new addition to the Southampton family is Keller Pils. J.J. Taylor FL has received only 20 kegs 1/6bbl of Southampton Keller Pils this season.
Southampton Keller Pils “is an unfiltered Pilsner (“Keller” means unfiltered.) Each year Southampton will make the Keller Pils with a different hop variety to create a unique and more interesting interpretation. The hop variety is used for 2010 Southampton Keller Pils is Hallertauer Tradition, a particularly refined hop that combines delicate aromatic characteristics with a moderately assertive character. The aromatics are herbal and spicy with a slight mineral component.
Commercial description: Visit an Old World lager brewery and the brewmaster will insist that you enjoy a “keller” beer direct from the aging tank. To a brewer this is beer at its purest: unfiltered, nuanced and gently carbonated.” Stats: ABV: 5% & IBUs: 35

Wednesday evening 5/19 in Sarasota, at SRQ’s most recent of the “beer geek” establishments, meet up with Andy G.; the FL Brewery rep for Southampton Brewery. There will be a beer and cheese paring, while cheese supply lasts, and several VERY uncommon Southampton 750ml beers will be offered in limited sampling. Mr. Beerys owner, Mark T. dove deep into his personal cellar for some rare treats. Also, the first taping of Southampton Keller Pils in FL.
